Day 3

I planned on this being a long post about my first 3 days of workouts and diet, but I just did the arms and shoulder workout and I am having trouble keeping my arms up high enough to type.

I can feel the plan working, even though I am sore I feel more healthy than I have been in a long time. I haven't lost any weight yet but it has only been three days.

I have found the diet to be more satisfying than i thought it would be, I guess now that I don't play wow all the time I have had the time to do proper shopping and proper cooking, although I do have a strong urge for something greasy like a burger from McDonalds.

The workouts are hard but the nice part about them being on DVD is you can pause it. I have used pause a hell of a lot so far to be honest but I have gotten through all the workouts so far.

I plan on posting before and after pictures once I am done my first month, than i will post pictures at 60 and 90 days.

I'll update again when my arms are not so tired.

Getting started

Over the last week I have spent a lot of time preparing it has taken more prep than I thought it would due to the fact I had zero workout equipment, no healthy food in my apartment, and no kitchen appliance to make things such as protein shakes.

For this experiment to work I have tried to go all out so below is a list of things I purchased in preparation, I have also stopped smoking and haven't had a drink in 3 days. On the topic of drinking I do plan to drink during these 90 days but not nearly as often as I used to, and I am going to do my best to avoid Beer or high carb \ sugar drinks, Being Canadian and the hockey playoffs just starting is going to make that extremely hard.

Item purchased

P90X Dvds ($150)
Online subscription to P90X Support ($40)
Yoga Mat ($25)
Free weights (10,15,20,25) ($120)
Yoga Blocks ($20)
Magic Bullet mixer for Protein Shakes ($30)
Whey Protein Tub ($30)
Creatine Tub ($30)
Multi Vitamines (?)
Assorted fruits, meats, etc but I'm not counting food as a cost since I expect to save money by not eating out. I also plan to buy a bike but I haven't purchased one yet.

That may look like a lot but over the course of 90 days I anticipate I will save a lot more by drinking less (a lot less), not buying smokes, and eating out way way less.

Disclaimer: I have recently finished my second day of workouts I will post tomorrow to cover my diet \ workouts for the first three days.

From Wow Nerd to P90X

With an office job during the day, and playing World Of Warcraft during the evening I was slowly becoming further and further out of shape. I had been thinking about trying the P90X system but I always thought the commercials were just that commercials till I met some people who had completed it and swore by it.

I decided to try a little experiment I would commit the time that I have spent the last 3+ Years playing WoW into time working out and following a nutrition plan for 90 days. I know it will not be easy, but frankly I am one stubborn person when I set my mind to something. I also know I have never been in shape in my life, up until a few days ago drank 4 days a week, smoked and eat fast food frequently.

I know this will not be easy, hell I'd be willing to be its damn hard. My motto for this experiment is "Sacrifice 90 days to hopefully change my life". I hope I can make it through the 90 days and I pray it will be worth it.

Disclaimer: I am in no way associated with whatever company runs P90X. I am only making this blog to track my change (or lack of change) during this experiment.
